Consumer Services Birthday Cards

Image
TITLE: Consumer Services Birthday Cards MEDIA: Digital SOFTWARE: Procreate, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator COMPANY: Florida Department of Financial Services Division of Consumer Services DATE: 2024- Current DESCRIPTION: Part of my assigned tasks include creating birthday cards for my coworkers.  I use a variety of methods to create these. Sometimes I will illustrate my own artworks using Procreate. Other times, I will generate patterns using Illustrator's AI generation if the design is more complex. I then import the file into InDesign and prepare the document for print on card stock. After the printing is completed, the card is then passed around to sign and given to the coworker on their birthday.

Outreach Supply Label

Image
TITLE: Outreach Supplies Label MEDIA: Digital SOFTWARE: Adobe Illustrator COMPANY: Florida Department of Financial Services Division of Consumer Services DATE: July 2024 DESCRIPTION: My first assignment for DFS was creating a label that we could place on our supply boxes. Our mascot for the department is a flying pig, so I decided to utilize Illustrator's AI feature to generate our mascot flying through the skies. I added one of our brochures in its hands to make it seem like it is delivering brochures to consumers.

Calligram

TITLE: Calligram MEDIA: Digital Illustration SOFTWARE: Adobe Illustrator HARDWARE: Macbook Pro 2019 SPECIFICATIONS: 600X800px, RGB, 72DPI CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry SEMESTER / TERM: FA 21 INSTITUTION: University of Tampa LINK:   https://maddywessling.blogspot.com/2021/12/calligram.html DESCRIPTION: “Calligram” is an image created of myself using only text. The original image was taken in New York by a professional photographer when I was in high school. I then took the text from different notes left to me by my mom and dad. Each word or phrase was chosen about the qualities that my parents admire about me. This project was not the original version, however. After the initial critiques, I went back and redid the entire project after learning and growing from my mistakes.

H.O.P.E.

TITLE: H.O.P.E. MEDIA: Digital Illustration SOFTWARE: Adobe Illustrator HARDWARE: Macbook Pro 2019 SPECIFICATIONS: 1118X1440px, RGB, 72DPI CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry SEMESTER / TERM: FA 21 INSTITUTION: University of Tampa LINK: https://maddywessling.blogspot.com/2021/11/hope.html DESCRIPTION: “H.O.P.E.” is a poster created in Adobe Illustrator. I took an image of myself riding the bus and looking out a window from high school. I then turned the image into black and white, making the image have stark contrast. I then took the brush tool and painted in the different rainbow colors around my skin, hair, and parts of the background. Afterwards, I went back in with some white to highlight the lips and the eyes. Then I added the quote around the image which is by Shyla Colt. This piece is one of my favorite pieces I have done while at UT. I have a printed copy in my room to remind me about what I’m passionate about and that bad days won’t last forever.

Business Cards and Logo

Image
TITLE: Business Cards and Logo MEDIA: Digital Illustration SOFTWARE: Adobe Illustrator HARDWARE: Macbook Pro 2019 SPECIFICATIONS: 1766X2016px, RGB, 72DPI CLASS: FMX 210 Digital Media PROFESSOR: Santiago Echeverry SEMESTER / TERM: FA 21 INSTITUTION: University of Tampa LINK: https://maddywessling.blogspot.com/2021/10/business-cards-logo.html DESCRIPTION: “Business Cards and Logo” are a set of products containing the same logo. First, I created some sketches by hand of what I wanted the design to look like, using different words, colors, and designs. Eventually, I decided I wanted to make a fake company using the word “Sweet,” as I really liked the cupcake design element. I then took the word and created the sketch in Illustrator. Afterwards, I made business cards and merch using different colors and styles. I actually have reused this project and instead of the word “Sweet,” I replaced it with my name. I now use this logo in my email signatures often.
